About Just Roaming Design
Who We Are and What Made Us
Travel shaped the creation of our multifaceted company, from our roots to our most innovative solutions. Our founder and lead systems engineer, Sam Reiser, developed his real world experience living off-grid periodically between 2015 and 2020 as he travelled the Americas in a range of different vehicles chasing adventure. In 2020 he joined the Victron Energy Ambassador team as part of an initiative to provide expert support to the Victron Sales team as the North American market grew. Sam is now one of eight Victron Energy Ambassadors in the U.S.
At our core, Just Roaming is an off-grid energy powerhouse that focuses on true custom design solutions from electrical systems to full builds. We also harbor a full service installation center that works directly with third parties to install products for the mobile marketplace in addition to our own unique designs. Just Roaming not only caters to our clients, but also to a quickly expanding network of installers and conversion companies to which we provide design and training.
Our team is passionate about designing and fabricating high-performing, sleek, and sustainable solutions that challenge our creativity. We are excited by projects that push the boundaries of what is possible and what has been done and we look forward to working with you!

Meet the Just Roaming Team
Sam Reiser
Founder
Since moving from Australia, Sam’s belief that travel enriches perspectives led him to found Just Roaming and assume the role of Lead Systems Engineer. He has sustained an impressive network of suppliers as an installer and distributor for leading off-grid power brands, fostering a valuable relationship with Victron Energy. His breadth of industry knowledge and knack for conversation make him an instantly familiar point of contact as you dive into projects with the crew. In his downtime, Sam explores local climbing crags and enjoys copious amounts of donuts from Portland’s finest (Pips).
Claire Stuhr
Operations & Logistics Manager
With a background in the environmental non-profit sector, Claire is in charge of our dealer network, client communication, company logistics, and marketing. She will more than likely be your first and last point of contact in the process of securing an install, coordinating a full build, or sourcing system components. Claire is a Portland native who finds joy while spending time outdoors, sharing food, and connecting with people.
Sustainability
Just Roaming aims to make adventure accessible, while keeping sustainability at the core of our mission. Our designs allow you to monitor your energy consumption on the road, empowering you to make adjustments and take additional steps to reduce your impact on your environment. We aim to become carbon neutral by utilizing Cool Effect, a carbon offset company that funds emission reducing projects.
