Proper system design leads to effective parts sourcing and system cleanliness. A clean system is a safe system. Cleanliness also expedites troubleshooting and upgrades. If there is an issue with one component in a system, it is usually a larger problem pointing to the integrity of the whole design. It is important to have a clear understanding of all the nuances that go into creating a functional system. It is easy to understand that a battery is connected to a solar charge controller, but what about the size of cable given the length of the run? Or, the correct overcurrent protection? The power is in the details.

A lack of regulation in the industry means many “professional” installers are figuring out how to design and install systems on the fly. With well over 250 installs out on the road, we have the practical experience to design and install with confidence. With our extensive professional network we are able to source answers quickly and confidently if we encounter oddities or niche scenarios. 

Consultations are billed at a rate of 125/hr. The first two hours of billed consultations will be removed from your initial deposit once the project begins. Any additional consultations needed to reach the point of finalizing a system design or project estimate will not be deducted from your bill.

Pre-wired 12v Box

Just Roaming’s Pre-wired 12v Box is our most popular power system installation for Sprinter, Transit, Promaster, and Econoline series vans. This system has been developed over the years to cater to those looking to be more self sufficient while adventuring or living full time on the road. Fully installed, the exposed electrical shown in the photo below is covered by a CNC cut panel with integrated vents.

System Installation

Not everyone has access to the tools and products needed to install a functional and reliable power system. With our extensive distribution channels, we have access to the products and materials needed to complete the job professionally. Every electrical installation is programmed and tested before leaving the shop to ensure the safety and integrity of the system.

Troubleshooting & System Inspections

Having both professional and DIY electrical systems underperform is common in this industry. We frequently troubleshoot and test systems installed by professionals and DIYers to diagnose the issue(s) and provide you with information to make an educated decision on your next steps. The mobile off-grid energy industry is still incredibly young and continues to evolve quickly. Often times, installers who claim to have experience are unfamiliar with the mobile space or newly emerging technology. You may find that there is a different opinion on every website, YouTube tutorial, or blog. We can refine your system and help you understand how it works.

For systems not originally installed by Just Roaming, Inspections and troubleshooting are billed at a rate of 149/hr with a minimum of 90 minutes billed to reach a diagnosis. Clients are asked to drop off their vehicle at 9:00am and pick up at 5:00pm the same day. By the end of the day, you will have a diagnosis and options for solutions. At this point, you have the option to move forward with the estimate and booking process.

We are a wholesale dealer for name brands such as Victron, Wakespeed, Nations Starter & Alternator, Ancor, Blue Sea, Relion and many more industry leaders. We can supply you with quality-tested brands to ensure your system performance and longevity.

System Integration

We work closely with industry leaders on product integration and design to guarantee that our energy systems operate seamlessly with market standards for power generation, heating, and cooling to push your rig into extreme environments comfortably. 

Programming

If your programming is inaccurate, your system will not function the way that it was intended. This is one of the most common issues we see. We have programmed hundreds of systems and are up to speed with current firmware updates that consistently empower Victron to maintain its leading status in the industry.

We always recommend having a professional install 48v systems and dedicated secondary lithium alternators.

Installation

Just Roaming cannot install products bought elsewhere as we cannot warranty them. All products required for an electrical system installation must be purchased through Just Roaming.

Support

Due to the high demand for our services, we cannot offer support to those whom have purchased products outside of Just Roaming. This includes Victron Energy products. Victron has set up its support network so that the dealer or distributor from which the customer purchases the product is responsible for support. This included Victron product purchases made through Amazon.
